Another P&Z hearing April 27 concerning wind farms.

There is another Planning & Zoning Hearing April 27th at 5:30 at the Coconino County offices on Cherry Street in Flagstaff concerning the proposed wind farms. The Canyon Country Coalition for Responsible Renewable Energy group is asking concerned citizens and TEA Party members to attend as a show of support and strength against the wind farms that wind developers are planning in the Grand Canyon Corridor?

Most people living in Flagstaff, Williams and surrounding areas are probably not to concerned about the sites as these towers might be out of their view. The film They’re Not Green by Nettie Pena discusses the environmental impact of these thirty-foot towers that people are unaware of.

The economic impact is a critical factor, as well. Experience in England has shown that wind generators are only productive when they are spinning and that only occurs when the wind is blowing. They produce much less time than the proponents actually state.

Millions of dollars of federal government money have been given to these developers since the Carter/Clinton administrations.

One Response to Another P&Z hearing April 27 concerning wind farms.

  1. Linda Webb says:

Just a couple of clarifications. The Hearing referred to above is on April 26th not the 27th, the County site has both dates, the 26th is correct. Also, not sure where the 30 ft towers height came from but we are talking industrial wind turbines that are 400 ft tall to the blade tip.
Hope to see many of you who are concerned about this project and budgetary waste at the hearing.
